Who They Are

The Austin Honey Badgers Track Club (HBTC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Austin, Texas that promotes youth development, growth and personal awareness through a comprehensive track & field program. The club was established in 2014 and has been building young athletes — on and off the track — ever since.

How It Started

Brandon and Candice Cooper founded the Austin Honey Badgers Track Club in August 2014. The Coopers fell in love with youth track in December 2010, after watching their then five-year-old daughter, Jayden Cooper, run and complete a 5K for a charity event. That spark became a mission: to give Austin’s kids a place to compete, grow and believe in themselves.

On the Track

Today the Honey Badgers train and compete across the season and host events that bring the Texas track community together — including the club’s “Clash of Texas” meet at Toney Burger Stadium. It’s discipline, teamwork and confidence, taught one race at a time.

Why They’re Here

Rhythm & Rise Live is about lifting up the next generation of Austin talent — and so are the Honey Badgers. Their partnership reflects a shared belief in investing in young people and in the community that raises them.
